My Top 5 Destination Wedding Shoots, #2: Naples Ritz Carlton, Florida

This beachfront wedding, hosted at the Ritz Carlton Naples Beach Resort, was incredibly elegant without ever being stuffy. It was the perfect intersection of white glove service and the seashore.

The resort has a beautiful beach club nestled among palm trees that served as the location for the big day. The ceremony was out-front on the beach under a billowy white canopy made of gauzy linen and bamboo.

As a wedding photographer it can be difficult when a bride wears a special gown on the beach and wants to keep it pristine. I was pleasantly surprised when a beautiful custom Monique Lhuillier gown did not stop the bride from getting her toes in the sand. The bride and groom had fun and went barefoot for the ceremony and most of the portraits.

They had gorgeous modern floral arrangements in bright tropical colors decorating the entire beach house. They started the reception with cocktails on the beach and then moved inside for an over the top meal with artfully plated courses. They then moved upstairs where they had a great live band, personalized craft cocktails and cigar stations.

I have photographed many destination weddings on the beach but what made this one a favorite was the couple themselves. They were so in love and it showed in everything they did together. Family dramas and the usual wedding craziness was ignored and they focused only on each other the whole time.
